What Cairn collects, and what it does not.
Cairn is built so no data ever leaves the device a child plays on. This page is the short, honest version. The longer version would say the same thing.
Data we collect
None. There are no accounts. There is no signup. There is no analytics SDK. There is no telemetry sent to a Cairn server, because there is no Cairn server that receives user data. There are no third-party trackers in our apps. There is no advertising network.
Data stored on the device
The following lives only in local storage on the device the app runs on: the player's name, age, chosen world, avatar (including any photo avatar), game progress and stats, any audio recordings of letter sounds a parent made. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. It is never uploaded anywhere.
Microphone
Cairn Read includes an optional "Record sounds" feature inside the grown-ups area. A parent can record the letter sounds in their own voice. Recordings are saved only on the device and are used only to play back letter sounds during play. The microphone is never accessed outside this parent-initiated feature.
Children's privacy
Cairn is designed for children. Cairn complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation as it applies to children, and Apple's Kids Category requirements by the simplest possible mechanism: collecting nothing. No personal information is collected, stored remotely, transmitted, sold, or shared.
Cookies and analytics on this website
This site (playcairn.com) does not set tracking cookies. It does not run an analytics SDK. Standard web server logs are kept for security purposes and discarded on a rolling 30-day window.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will keep prior versions linked at the bottom of this page. The brand thesis depends on this posture not loosening.
