Common questions

The app does not work on wifi-only iPads.

It is supposed to. Open the app once with wifi on, let the loading complete, and after that it runs in airplane mode. If a feature stops working without wifi after the first launch, that is a bug. Please email us with details.

I want to delete my child's progress.

Uninstall and reinstall the app on the device. All saved data lives only on that device. Cairn does not keep a backup anywhere else.

Can my child play on more than one iPad?

Yes, on any iPad signed in to the Apple ID that bought the app. Progress is per-device because we do not sync any data to a server.

What ages is Cairn Read for?

Three to six. The game tunes difficulty and pacing to the age you pick during profile setup and adapts as your child plays.

How do I record my voice for the letter sounds?

Hold the "Grown-ups" button on the map for 2 seconds, open the "Record sounds" tab, and tap the red button next to each letter. Say the pure sound, not the letter name. The game will then use your voice everywhere those sounds appear.

Refunds.

Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases. reportaproblem.apple.com is the right place. If Apple is unhelpful, write us anyway and we will see what we can do.
